When I was young I told my grandfather that I wanted to be a millionaire. He told me that I wouldn't become a millionaire, and that I should focus on something more realistic. I asked my mother to invest in my company and she told me that I picked the wrong business. To be honest, most of the people I have told about my dreams have told me that I picked the wrong field to be in. Their advice was that, in the fashion game you need a large amount of money to make it. I guess my point is if I base what I'm going to become based on what other people think, I will never succeed in life. People have been telling me what I could and couldn't be since I came into this world. I was diagnosed with ADD and the doctor told my grandparents that they should put me on medication. When I was eleven, the doctor diagnosed me with Lupus, and told me I couldn't go outside in the sun and that I would have to take medication for the rest of my life.
What have I learned in my 31 years on this planet? I have learned that the only limitations that you have are the ones you create for yourself. You can do anything you put your mind to as long as you believe so. You have two choices when you face adversity. You can use it as a tool so that you evolve and get better as a person. Or you can let that same adversity hinder you and stop you from being great. When I was in fifth grade, the teachers told my grandfather that I should be in special education classes. The reason they told my grandfather that was because I was very hyper active. So I was put in a system where the work was below my grade level. There were only 15 students in this class. To top that off the entire school knew I was in special Ed, so me and all my friends got joked on all the time. Being that I was in special education, I wasn't learning anything in these classes but to learn how to keep my sanity in the school. School never taught me how to educate myself. I learned that from my grandparents and my Aunt. So when I didn't understand something, I had to do research until I understood it. In the summer, when all my friends were outside, my grandfather made me sit on the terrace and read books like To Kill a Mockingbird. I tell you these stories because if my education was based on what I was getting in school, I would not be the person I am today.
I started really living when I realized that it didn't matter what people said about me. The only thing that mattered was how I viewed myself. So when I was in 9th grade, I got out of special education because one of the assistant principals believed I did the work too easily. I passed all my Regents and graduated from high school on time. After I graduated from high school, I went to college and got my Associates in Human Services. Then I went back and got my bachelors in science from Medgar Evers College in Social work. I graduated with honors and I'm a year way from getting my Master's degree. At 32, I'm currently not taking any medication for my Lupus. The sun doesn't make me sick and I'm learning how to deal with my lupus through a healthy diet and maintaining a peaceful state of mind. If I would have listened to the doctors, I would be scared of the sun and still taking medications that suppress my Lupus rather then helping me get rid of it and deal with any symptoms.
While I was in school I started a company called KoolforLife Inc. The goal for my company is to bring people together throughout the entire world together through love, spirit and consciousness. I have created a platform where people from all over the world can find inspiration and connect themselves with other high spirits that want to work together to make this world a better place. KoolforLife Inc currently consist of a clothing line that will drop in September of 2017. KoolforLife inc has an active website that has a blog site, videos that can inspire you and a message that's much needed. KoolforLife also has a t-shirt line, I have a hotline on my website that people can use if they are going through something and need to talk. Recently I put a Health & Wellness section on my website to give people a different vantage point on the types of foods that they are eating.
I am not a millionaire yet and my company is still growing and evolving. In the process of me growing and evolving as a person I believe that KoolforLife Inc will be a billion dollar company that services and gives back to people all over the world. I planted seeds with KoolforLife and when the garden is finished my harvest will feed the entire planet. I don't care who believes in me, I don't care about how many people failed at my business. I don't care about focusing on what's wrong with the world, I am focused on making solutions to help make this world a better place. If I spent time listening to the noice and the negative energy around me I would never accomplish my goals. Instead when I doubt myself I just look back and remember what I have did with adversity my whole life. I have looked it in the face with a smile and I have overcame anything the universe has thrown my way. I will continue to live in divine light and accomplish my goals until I become the person I know I want to be. My success is not just dependent on me getting rich and taking care of my family. The entire human race is my family and I want us all to accomplish our goals and brings our dreams to life as a collective. As you can see, divided we will continue to be conquered but together with the power of spirit we can do anything as long as we believe so. I will never be a product of my environment, my environment will forever be a product of me. I created KoolforLife inc to inspire people all over the world to be their best selves. My goal is to inspire you to step outside your comfort zone because you don't grow inside of it. You grow when you step outside your comfort zone and push yourself to be your best self. In life you will meet people that tell you that you can't do what you want to do because they couldn't do it. But remember that people can only see as far as their perception allows them to see. That means that if you're closed minded and don't believe in yourself, it's impossible for you to be believe in me. Micheal Jordan's high school coach cut him from the team and he turned out to be the best basketball player to ever play the game. When Barack Obama ran for president they told him that he would never win and if he did win he would only do one term as president. Well eight years later, he was was elected to be the first African American president - you get my point. It doesn't matter if the person that your talking to can't see what you see in your head, what matters is that you teach yourself how to take those thoughts and turn them into realities. You will have days that you feel like giving up, you will have days where you say to yourself maybe my friends were right and I should of never tried to be bring my dream to life. Remember when those days come, that's not spirit talking, that's ego talking. Nothing worthwhile comes without sacrifice. Believe in yourself at all times and if you fail use it as motivation to do bigger and better things. I will accomplish all the goals I created for myself because for me, giving up is way harder then trying. This is my motto, take your dreams and turn them into seeds. Take those seeds and use the universe as your soil. Use your spirit as light to help those seeds grow and make sure you keep the weeds out your garden because weeds will destroy your garden. Take care of your garden and I assure you when it's harvest time you will have enough to share your harvest with the entire world. You don't have to die to go to heaven, just try living in a world without living out your dreams and that's your hell right there.
